Baker of this Parish who was
Buried the 29th day of July
1793 in the 63rd year of his age

This Analysis of John Baker’s Will is based on a transcription of the Will which appeared in the following Book Our Cornish heritage: Genealogies of Reed, Rowe, Ebbott and related families, immigrants to Jefferson County, Wisconsin by S.D. Reed.[i]  Unfortunately, the original isn’t currently available see research note for more details..

Mary’s first husband would have died b/w 1778 and 1786. He possibly died in February 1780 and was buried on 3 February 1780 In Tremaine, Cornwall.[xii]

Research Notes

The original Will was not examined only the transcription printed in S.D. Reed’s book “Our Cornish heritage: Genealogies of Reed, Rowe, Ebbott and related families, immigrants to Jefferson County, Wisconsin.” The Will is currently held under the same reference details at the Cornwall Records Office  “AP/B/4743,  Will of John Baker, yeoman, of Tremaine, 1793”.[xxi] [Note according to the Cornwall website the “Cornwall Record Office and the Cornish Studies Library are now permanently closed so our staff can prepare our collections for the move to Kresen Kernow”, it is most likely to be reopened sometime in 2019.]
